Weekend Reading
For months, we won’t be having any choice but to stay inside. For months, every day is going to feel like a weekend, especially for those who can finish an entire week’s work from home in one day. Maybe two days, maximum (lucky ducks). Thankfully, we have a great selection of books we can dive into.
Separation Anxiety by Laura Zigman
We recommend you start reading this immediately because it’s downright hilarious. A few pages in and you’d be bursting out laughing. The relatable humour doesn’t deny the sad parts but hey, how some things in life work out can be such a bummer, yet you can’t help but see how pathetically sad and humorous it is at the same. This novel is going to make you laugh and cry, which is a great cathartic release combo. Have at it while you can.
The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa
Lina Santos, a wedding coordinator, and Max Hartley, a marketing expert, has to work together for a presentation that will push them ahead in their careers. There’s a problem though: Max is Lina’s ex-fiancé’s brother who encouraged him to walk out on her. And he did it in front of the altar. Ouch! Talk about a wedding planner who got ditched at her own wedding. The two succeeded in not killing each other while working together, but another emotion grows amidst the hatred. Rom-com fans, you’re in for a treat.
